Seville Orange Tree

Program Note: "This music depicts memories of the composer and the sacred land where she used to visit in Shiraz, Iran. That place used to have a Seville orange tree in its backyard. The second movement is in celebration of the divine soul lived in that place." - Scarborough Philharmonic

Suggested Activity: Select a portion of the music and create a listening texture map that uses symbols, lines, or colors to show when the flute and piano play together or separately. Also, try to indicate when the two instruments are moving with the same rhythmic ideas (homophony) or when they are each performing different rhythmic patterns.
