About this Piece
Program Note: "Billie Johanna Harting began working in 1951 at the Walt Disney studios. She started in the secretarial pool where she worked for various executives including Walt and Roy. It was during this time that she met a young composer, Jaime. The two married and would raise their family in Southern California. During their courtship, Jaime wrote 'Serenade to an Orchid' for Billie."
