Darshan - III. Charukeshi

Reena Esmail
Piece Duration: 5:10

About this Piece

"Darshan means ‘seeing’ in Hindi. In the Hindu religion, to give ‘darshan’ is to see and worship God. As Vijay and I worked on this music together over three years, we began to see the divine in one another." - Reena Esmail

Phrase: Listen for where the violinist pauses to find the end of each phrase. Note that instead of playing in strict time, the violinist is playing in an expressive style that gives the piece such life beyond what is written in the sheet music!
