Candy Candy

At 1:02, 2:15, and 3:00, a bass line enters underneath the vocal and flute lines. The solfege is "fa, re, sol, la" in the key of E Minor. Try to sign and sing it, in a comfortable octave of course!

At 0:15, 1:30, and 2:45, the flutists play two independent lines at the same time, creating polyphony! Watch how the two flutists move with the music, and where their fingers land on the flute keys. Can you listen for their individual lines?

In the final section of "Candy Candy," listen for the polyphony that is created between the flute, vocalist, and bass line. Can your ear pick out each of the parts?
